U.S. Veteran

SFC Devone Ramone Reynolds, Sr., 41, of Killeen (Ft. Hood) Texas entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. SFC

Reynolds was a native of Savannah, Georgia and attended the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. He was a 1991 graduate of A. E. Beach High School. Upon graduation for high school he enlisted in the United State Army where he valiantly and courageously served for more than 20 years. He proudly served in the Bosnian War in 1998-99, the Iraq War in 2003-04, and the War in Afghanistan in 2006-07.

At the time of his death he was a member of the 27th BSB HHC 1st Calvary Unit at Ft. Hood, Texas where he served as a Drill Sergeant. He was a diligent and faithful member of the Agape Church of God in Christ in Killen, TX.

SFC Reynolds was preceded in death by his mother Leola M. Reynolds.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Chastity Sands-Reynolds; five sons, Seaman Recruit Devone Reynolds, Jr., Groton, CT, John Edwards of Louisville, KY, Chasse Sands of Killen, TX, Chancelor Porter of Savannah, GA, and Todd Staton of Tarbourough, NC; four daughters, Chelsea Reynolds of Savannah, GA, Chyna Sands of Louisville, KY, Kaiden Kendricks and Kaniya Kendricks both of Killen, TX; father, Willie Reynolds, Jr., of Savannah, GA; mother in law, Phyllis Sands of Louisville, KY; grandmother in law, Ruby Sands of Louisville, KY; two sisters, Min. LaTrell Boddie and Andrea Holmes, both of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Jamal Boddie and Willie (Sharon) Reynolds both of Savannah, GA; a brother in law, Quincy Sands of Louisville, KY; twelve nieces, six nephews, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other loved ones and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Paul CME Church 1601 Barnard Street. The Rev. Da’Henri R. Thurmond, Sr., Pastor. Pastor Jimmie E. Rutherford, Sr., of Walking by Faith Ministries, Inc., in North Killeen, Texas, Eulogist. Committal Ceremony at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery 8819 US HWY 301, in Glenville, GA at 3:00 pm.
